April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Survivor Justice Center is committed to advocating on behalf of the nearly 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men who have experienced some form of sexual assault. A lawyer can be a valuable advocate for survivors of sexual assault. In Survivor Justice Center's Teen/LA program, attorneys help young survivors come up with solutions to the challenges they may face in their everyday lives after an assault.

Appeal published after teen client is denied protective order

Beverly is a young mother and a survivor of dating violence. She came to Survivor Justice Center through our Teen/LA program when she was 18 with her infant child. Beverly feared for her and her child's safety because of the batterer's controlling behavior, so she sought a permanent restraining order.
